Flow field analysis and testing of curved shroud wind turbine with different flange angle

This research focuses on computational fluid dynamics modeling and experimental analysis of a shrouded wind turbine. A shroud turbine comprises with flanged encircling it for better energy utilization at low speed. The effects diffuser shape flange angle have been studied by performing flow field in Ansys Fluent condensing the size. CFD shows that cycloid gives 7% more velocity than straight shape. In addition, optimum is +10°, while compared normal angle, optimal has increased power 4.83% 15%, respectively. increment due to variation magnitude vortex generation behind flange. Besides, performance proposed 3D, shrouded, unshrouded turbines was numerically analyzed, prototype model manufactured tested. simulation results agree lay within acceptable range. Compared an similar swept area speed, 1.58 5, increase speed makes suitable application areas. Moreover, can be helpful sparsely populated off-grid areas generate electricity being mounted rooftops.
